Our Story

Metric Motors was born from a passion for cars, a dedication to honest service, and a belief that a repair shop should feel like home. It all started in a barn in my parents’ backyard, where I spent countless hours working on Alfa Romeos—my first automotive love. I didn’t have a big budget or a fancy shop, just a commitment to doing things the right way. Before long, word spread. Neighbors told their friends, friends told their families, and soon, I was fixing not just Italian beauties but cars of every make and model.

We became known as “the repair shop you can trust.” Not because of flashy ads or gimmicks, but because we built relationships—one honest repair at a time. My brother joined me early on, and as the business grew, so did our team. By 1989, my wife, Arlene, came on board, bringing a warmth and customer-first approach that helped shape Metric Motors into what it is today.

As the demand for our services grew beyond our humble beginnings, we made the leap in 1995 to a new 10,000-square-foot auto center. But even as the shop expanded, our core values never changed. We kept the small-town honesty, the handshake deals, and the commitment to treating every customer like family. Arlene helped create an atmosphere where everyone—especially women—could feel comfortable and confident bringing their vehicles in, something still rare in this industry.

Today, Metric Motors is more than just a repair shop; it’s a legacy. We have been proudly serving our community for over 46 years, growing from a backyard barn to one of the most trusted names in auto repair. Our team has expanded to 21 full-time employees—three of us related by blood, but all connected by something deeper. Some of our team members have been with us for 40 years—because once you’re part of Metric Motors, you’re here to stay.
